Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with various types of optimization problems. Students learn to solve both the basic static optimization problems and primarily dynamic system optimization problems. The main focus of the course is geared to understanding of the solution of the following problems:
* Time optimal control
* Pontryagin's minimum principle
* Dynamic programming and Bellman optimization recursion
* Linear-Quadratic optimal control problem
|
Requirements on student
|
Elaboration of three written reports that demonstrate ability to properly formulate and solve the given optimization problems.
