Course objectives:
|
The course has two goals. The first is to familiarize the student with software development principals in automotive industry, its specifics and necessities on quality, robustness and safety of delivered software.
The second is to introduce the student into corporate environment, its procedures and tools, which are standardized in automotive companies.

Requirements on student
|
The student must attend and participate in practicums. At the end of the semester, the student must participate in presentation of group's project.

Specifics of the SW development for the Automotive industry, quality assurance, V model, Requirements analysis, specification, design HW layer, MW layer, application layer, AUTOSAR standard, implementation, static and dynamic code checking reviews, MISRA checks, unit tests, SW metrics, SW integration and integration tests SiL testing, SW tests HiL testing, application data parameters, Safety aspects safety classification of the automotive systems, SW implementation of different safety levels, SW releases, SW projects planning Master plan, SW project and release plan, Problem management, connection between system and SW development, specifics of the SW development in the maintenance phase.

Student should have basic knowledge of C/C++ or Java. Knowledge of MCU programming or of embedded systems is advantage. |

After completing of the course, the student will:
1. be able to understand the life cycle of SW development in automotive
2. have basic knowledge of creation of requirements for design, SW and software testing
3. know commonly used programming techniques in automotive industry
4. gain experience in usage of tools for SW development and testing, in simulated and real (with hardware) environment
5. have overview of safety topics concerning automotive
