Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of technical cybernetics. The purpose of the course is to give students an overview of the basic issues of cybernetics and methods of their solution.

Requirements on student

To obtain the credit and final exam, students have to pass a written test.

1. Cybernetics - introduction, historical overview.
2. Basic concepts of systems theory and information theory.
3. Relationship between real systems and their mathematical models.
4. Principle of feedback and compensation control.
5. Introduction to linear time-invariant systems.
6. Modern approaches to the problems of process and machine control systems.
7. Examples of control systems in practice.
8. Artificial intelligence.
9. Principles of intelligent management systems.
10. Classification and decision making.
11. Use of knowledge.
12. Examples of speech recognition and image processing systems.
