Course objectives:
|
The students will be introduced into the problmes of
- the simulation of nonlinear continuum,
- simulation of sceletal and smooth muscles,
- simulation of cardiovascular system,
- implant and artificial articular and vessel replaces,
- simulation of chosen human body organs.
The student applies obtained knowledge by the biomechanical problems simulation of chosen tissues and organs.

Credit requirements
The elaboration and delivery of the semestral work of adequate level.
Credit obtained in previous years of study is not accepted.
Exam requirements
Active knowledge of lectures and their application to the solution of chosen biomechanical problems.

Content
|
1.Linear and nonlinear continuum mechanics, total Lagrange formulation.
2.Actualized Lagrange formulation, constitutive relations of nonlinear continuum.
3.Reological models of viscoelastic materials.
4.Basic anatomical notation, cells, tissues (division). Biomechanics of ligaments.
5.Biomechanics of cartilage and bone tissue.
6.Biomechanics of sceletal muscle, pinnated and parallel muscle fibre setting, force and velocity characteristics.
7.Mechanical properties of muscle (Hill's equations), 3D model of a muscle according to two-phase mixture.
8.Sarcomere mechanics, Huxley model of cross-bridges, Hill's model of muscle.
9.Mechanics of smooth muscle (skin, large intestine, urether, urinary bladder).
10.Biomechanics of cardiovascular system and heart muscle (mechanical model of the heart, Starling law, mechanical power).
11.Human blood, flow properties of blood, constitutive relation of blood (non-newtonian fluid), viscosimeters.
12.Principles of theory of lubrication and synovial fluids.
13.Principle of composite materials homogenization, mechanics of micropolar continuum.
