The main scope is an individual complex activity in the field on civil engineering
The main focus is in the following areas:
- optimal design and choice of the construction, structure or solution of other particular specialized issues assigned in the diploma thesis
- use of computer technology for the design of the structure or of the thesis' subject
- general and detailed solution of the construction or of the thesis' subject
- presentation of the solution and of the thesis' results

Requirements on student
|
Respecting the stated content and extent of the thesis, time schedule and instructions given by the consultant of the thesis.
Presentation of the thesis at an adequate level in terms of professional content and formal skills.

Content
|
Carrying out the thesis is a necessary condition for the admission to the final state exam in the Masters study course in Civil Engineering
The topic of the thesis is assigned by the department in the beginning of the 3rd semester of study. The main consultant gives the students detailed instructions on how to approach the thesis in terms of technical skills, methodological skills and time schedule. In the first part of the thesis the students works with relevant literature to properly design the construction, choosing the correct methods. He presents updated reports on the advancement of the work to the consultant. The second part is devoted to consultations with the consultant of the thesis, writing, editing and terminating the thesis. Its estimated range is 40 -60 pages, including drawings.
The content of this work is chosen from the following:

- architectural design
- technical construction and design of materials
- design the bearing structure to ensure the required reliability
- fire safety solutions
- solving energetic and environmental systems in the building
- placement of the buildings in the area
- preparation and construction
- economic evaluation of buildings
