Course objectives:

The main goal of the defense of the bachelor's thesis is to verify the student's ability to independent creative activity in the field of design and construction of buildings, especially that:
1. has successfully mastered the knowledge of the design and construction of buildings and their structures, including their reconstruction and building modifications, using appropriate materials and technologies and respecting the requirements for the quality of the indoor environment,
2. can actively use computational procedures and professional software for the design and optimization of chosen solutions,
3. has the necessary professional skills, knowledge and competences from the relevant specializations,
4. manages to present the proposed solutions and results of the work.

Requirements on student
|
During the evaluation of the defense of the bachelor's thesis, the quality of the submitted work and the arguments of the defense are assessed. Independence and systematic work is required, management of specific tasks and formulation of findings and conclusions. The ability to critically evaluate one's own work and accepted results is evaluated.

Content
|
The defense of the bachelor's thesis takes place in the form of an oral presentation to the committee. The evaluation takes into account the quality of individual work, the level of presentation of the bachelor's thesis, the level of the student's response to the comments of the opponent and the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis and in the general discussion. The evaluation also takes into account the evaluation of the bachelor's thesis by the opponent and the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis.
In particular, the following are required:
- systematicity and independence in the creation of the bachelor's thesis,
- mastering of specific sub-tasks,
- ability to solve a given problem comprehensively,
- ability to present of one's own work in graphic, written and oral form.
