The students will be informed about the main materials and products used in construction, about their application, testing methods and methods for ensuring the quality standards.

The student will elaborate and hand in a semestral project of an adequate level.

Active knowledge of the content of the course, ability to apply the knowledge to describe the main materials and their use.

1st week: Parameters required from a construction, required use and placement of construction materials, required parameters of construction materials.
2nd week: Physical and chemical parameters of construction materials.
3rd week: System of quality parameters of construction materials.
4th week: Vertical structures.
5th week: Horizontal structures.
6th week: Roofs.
7th week: Surfaces (finishing of surfaces).
8th week: Areas exposed to outdoor conditions, drainage.
9th week: Durability of construction materials.
10th week: Economic use of construction materials.
11th week: Ecological aspects related to the use of construction materials.
12th week: Special materials.
13th week: Quality control on site during the realization of a structure and during its lifetime.
