Course objectives:

The student:
- will be taught about the relationships functioning in the system of the environment, its definition and practical use
- will be taught about the evaluation of the effects of specific human activity (planning and realization of construction) on the environment
- will be acquainted with practical solutions of the effects of specific human activity (planning and realization of construction) on the environment
- will be acquainted with necessary documents that need to be observed and/or prepared in the planning and realization of construction - i.e. approvals for handling dangerous waste, waste management, approval for water contamination, risk management and plans for eventual accidents on site, regulations for handling chemicals on site
- will be acquainted with the possibilities of revitalization of the landscape using anti-erosion methods and with the possible revitalizing elements

Active knowledge of the content of the course, ability to apply the knowledge to the problems on the effects of constructions on the environment.

1st Week: Human influence on the environment and its protection
2nd Week: Influences on natural resources
3rd Week: Ecological stability of the environment
4th Week: Effects of climate change on water ecosystems
5th Week: Storage of waste
6th Week: Protection of the environment during the planning of the construction (preparation and realization of project documentation)
7th Week: EIA and SEA studies
8th Week: Effect of constructions on the environment with regard to the used materials
9th Week: Protection of the environment during the preparation of the construction
10th Week: Protection of the environment during the realization of the construction
11th Week: Protection of the environment during the removal and demolition of the construction; Rescuing old ecological damages and re-cultivation of the environment
12th Week: Evaluation of the construction with regard to sustainable development
13th Week: Creation of the environment and evaluation of the environment with regard to the object
