The aim of the course is to make students familiar with history of the region of Middle East in the era from emergence of Mongols in 13th century to the First World War. Students will learn of essential historical turning points and processes in broad context, of different ruling dynasties together with related specifics, of important political and social trends of given period. The attention is also paid to the relations of great European powers with Middle Eastern countries or dynasties, especially from the beginning of 19th century.
