EU labor law currently forms an important part of a comprehensive EU law which materially affects the appearance of the Czech labor law both in legislation and in the area of its interpretation and decision-making litigation. European labor law does not regulate the whole system of employment law, but only those parts which, in accordance with the principles of the Treaty of Lisbon should be addressed at the international level, but the legislation applies to the most important issues (issues of fundamental rights and freedoms, free movement of workers, non-discrimination in employment protection of employees, etc.).
The course aims to provide students with sufficient knowledge to be able to use the Czech labor law in accordance with the principles of EU law and to be able to address relevant legal issues and at the EU level.
The course is designed as a compulsory elective Master's degree in Law and a Master's degree in Public Administration; can also be used for a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. The subject is closely related in particular to the subject area Czech Labor Law (Labor Law 1, Labor Law 2) and also to subject area Social Security Law in Czech Republic. Depending on the timing of the study program can be conceived as a deepening and completion of education in related subjects areas, but it is not excluded yes its conception as an introduction to these related subjects areas. |
